What is Elephango?
Elephango was built by homeschooling experts specifically for homeschoolers. It offers one-on-one learning for K-12 students through its plug-and-play content. With the goal of helping every student succeed, Elephango offers thousands of lessons, resources, and activities.
Gamified learning with Elephango comes with ease! The program makes learning fun for kids and allows them to earn and collect fun badges. It also makes it easy for parents to keep track and build a portfolio. Parents can also search by learning preferences to assign lessons that fit how their child learns.
This award-winning online curriculum will help students:
- Develop life skills
- Be confident life-long learners
- Accelerate through self-paced learning
- Be critical thinkers and problem solvers
Elephango helps students be active in their learning by giving them the option to choose the topics and interests that they would like to learn and the ability to explore each concept in a safe environment with their free Chrome Extention.
With this extension, search results are customized and filtered using Google’s Safe Search which blocks unsafe and inappropriate search results. Your child can also customize the settings with wallpapers, personalized shortcuts, as well as showcase their Elephango achievements.
How We Used Elephango
My son used Elelphango in several lessons with Discover! Homeschool Curriculum. However, we also used Elephango during family learning for extracurricular learning activities. There are so many wonderful subjects that we can explore together. The first topic of interest that we chose was “All About Cats”
In every lesson there is a “Get It, Got It, and “Go” section. For the All About Cats lesson, the “Get It” section goes through the information using several videos and fun facts about cats.
The “Got It” section quizzes the child to help retain the information presented.
The “Go” section helps the child apply more of their knowledge. In this lesson, it was by writing a report on cats and learning how to draw a cat.
The lesson was fun and the kids all enjoyed it. It was laid out nicely and was easy to navigate.

My Thoughts
Overall, I think Elephango is a great platform. The All About Cats lesson kept all three kids engaged. While we used it for family-style learning, it would be excellent for individual use. I would love to see it have an Apple or Android app but it’s still doable on a web browser.
The Google Chrome extension was a great addition to my oldest daughter’s other homeschool lessons. She was able to do some research on The Liberty Bell for history. It’s easy to navigate for her and the search results provided content from Elephango and other resources. I’m a fan of it so far and will continue to use it for family-style learning!
