How I Became A Pinterest Manager And You Can Too!

Share with a friend!

Being a Pinterest Manager is one of my favorite ways to make money from home! I have talked before about becoming a freelance virtual assistant, which is a great way to make money from home. But today, I want to discuss a service that’s even more niched and can be your sole service offering! I would have never thought that I could make money using Pinterest while being a stay at home, homeschool mom! But the truth is, I make money every single month helping others market their business on Pinterest and you can too! I have learned so much about the power of Pinterest, and I am so excited to show you how you can use Pinterest to make money from home!

My History With Pinterest

When I first started with Pinterest in 2010, I just pinned all my favorite interests.  It was fun! Exciting! I loved that I could keep track of those things, and just enjoyed it as a new online tool.  I started to realize that it could be a gold mine for business too. Back then, I also had a photography business, so I had a great chance to try out Pinterest’s business potential.  I created a Pinterest for Business account, and that account and my photography business took off!

Eventually, I hung up my camera in favor of staying home with my babies, but that Pinterest account kept getting consistent traffic. The funny thing about it is that the account itself was idle.  I wasn’t adding anything or even checking it often, but the traffic still kept coming in. Watching that traffic keep coming in with no effort on my part showed me something new!

Pinterest could be an incredible tool to help grow a business.  I had been thinking it was a neat marketing tool, and it absolutely is, but I discovered almost by accident that Pinterest could also help GROW a business! That’s when I started studying Pinterest more in-depth!

What I Discovered About Pinterest

I started blogging and began using my new skills with Pinterest to gain traffic to my blog.  And I’m telling you, Pinterest lived up to its expectations and helped to grow my blog into a business. A bigger lightbulb went on when I discovered that I could help other people grow their business with the power of Pinterest!

What Is A Pinterest Manager?

Pinterest is a search engine, not a social media platform. Busy business owners don’t always have the time to dedicate to learning how to use Pinterest for their business. That’s where you come in: your job would be to use your expertise to provide strategy and manage the account for them. As a Pinterest Manager or Pinterest Marketing Strategist, you help your clients drive traffic to their websites and/or products.

One important note: You can’t promise sales, but you can promise traffic to their website. It’s up to the business, not you, to drive the sales.

What Does A Pinterest Manager Do?

Some of the tasks that you’ll perform as a Pinterest Manager include:

  • Setting up a new business account
  • Claiming the businesses website and social media accounts on Pinterest
  • Auditing and Optimizing an account with SEO rich keywords
  • Writing an SEO rich description
  • Verifying Rich Pins
  • Creating and updating boards
  • Designing custom Pins
  • Uploading Pins to Pinterest or the client’s website
  • Implement a custom Pinterest strategy tailored to their business
  • Managing group boards or Tailwind Tribes
  • Schedule pins using Tailwind (Get 30 days FREE here)
  • Manually pinning
  • Joining group boards and Tailwind Tribes
  • Provide monthly analytics reports

How Much Can You Make As A Pinterest Manager?

First things first, the amount of money you make as a Pinterest Manager will solely depend on your experience and what you offer. Don’t expect as a new Pinterest Manager to charge premium prices. As a beginner, you can charge a minimum of $15 per hour. With the more experience you gain and the more clients you get you can start increasing your rates. It’s not unheard of to charge even up to $50 per hour!

If you have several clients, as a minimum, you can anticipate making at least $1000 per month minimum. The more advanced and experienced you are, you can easily make more!
