Self-Paced Homeschool Science Curriculum
Professor Greg Landry is a homeschool dad and former college professor who has over 20 years of experience teaching science. He created these courses with a biblical worldview and puts God at the center. Professor Landry puts a great emphasis on seeing God’s glory through His creation, which is right up my alley!
We’ve had the opportunity to try Young Science Biology and Young Scientist Earth and Space Science from Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science. These two courses, in particular, are designed for fourth through seventh grade and last for one semester. However, this self-paced curriculum goes up to twelfth grade and offers a variety of courses!
If teaching science is not your forte, don’t worry, outsourcing with this self-paced science curriculum is a win-win.

Online Learning
Online homeschool science classes have their perks! You have a qualified science teacher teaching your children at their own pace, from the comfort of home. The platform that this curriculum uses to access the course is called Canvas. It is easy to navigate and your children can easily learn their way around to either login, start a lesson or complete an assignment.
Everything you need is located on the dashboard where you will find PDF study guides and video lessons.
The video lessons are on average 30 minutes long which is great for keeping your child’s attention and the PDFs are absolutely beautifully put together.

One of my favorite things about Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science is that he starts every lesson with a prayer. He keeps God at the center of science which is incredibly important for us as Christian homeschoolers.

Knowing that Christ is Professor Landry’s foundation, I feel safe letting my child sit and learn from him and trust that he will not throw any secular humanist worldview into his lessons.

Learning online at a self-pace, especially science, can be intimidating, right? What if you have questions? What if you need help with something? Professor Landry takes that worry away and makes it easy to contact him through the Canvas inbox if you need help at any time.
He prioritizes monitoring the Canvas inbox for his students and he typically will reply to your questions the same day, most often within a few hours!
Virtual Science Lab Option
Science labs can also be a very intimidating part of homeschool science. It usually requires a lot of tools, specimens (think dissection!), chemicals, etc. Taking a virtual lab is a great option for those who get queasy easily, can’t afford supplies, or simply just can’t do a science lab at a homeschool co-op.
Zero supplies are needed for this online lab, well, because it’s all done online! While a virtual lab wasn’t needed for the two classes we chose, Professor Landry provides amazing virtual interactive lab options for physics, chemistry, biology, anatomy, and physiology! These labs are geared toward seventh through twelfth graders and are designed to help your child build critical thinking skills and develop a research and inquiry mindset.

Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science offers a Christ-centered science membership for the whole family! Offering classes for grades 4-12, this membership includes every single one of Professor Landry’s self-paced courses and labs. That means you will have access to over $3,000 worth of online science classes!
The monthly membership fees are reasonably priced and you can cancel at any time. They also offer a decreasing membership fee the longer you are a member!
If you’d rather pay for each course or lab individually, you have that option as well.

My Thoughts On Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science
Using a self-paced online science curriculum is a great alternative to traditional homeschool textbook science courses. This is also a great way to earn high school credits to put on transcripts and takes the stress away from teaching homeschool science.
I love supporting homeschool curricula with a biblical worldview. Our experience with Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science has been fantastic and I definitely recommend it.
