Fun Spring Activities For Kids

Share with a friend!

Springtime is here! After a long winter being cooped up in the house, our kids are very eager to get outside and play in the sunshine! I’m sure yours are too! Lucky for us, I have a remedy. Here are some great ideas for springtime outdoor activities for your kiddos!

Gardening

Our kids love digging in the dirt and getting dirty. Gardening is a great way to get the kids outside and in the dirt, but in a productive way. Planting an herb garden, flowers, new bushes or even this Resurrection Garden is so much fun.

Fun Crafts

Spring crafts are a great way to bring in the season. You can go outside and pick wildflowers, sticks, and grass to make a beautiful mural. Or you can even make paper plate animals that you normally see in spring. This Snail paper plate craft was easy and fun to make.

Scavenger Hunt

With all the little things springing up, growing, creeping, and crawling, Spring is a great time to go outside for a scavenger hunt!

Blow Bubbles

Our kids LOVE bubbles! Bubbles make the perfect outdoor Spring activity because there’s no water needed. It’s usually not hot enough for the pool or water activities in Spring, but with bubbles, you can run around outside and chase bubbles.

Make a Bird Feeder

In Spring, the birds are back! We love when we hear the birds outside chirping and singing in the morning. Making a bird feeder is a fun activity but if you want to enjoy the bird’s company, any type of bird feeder will do.

Paint Rocks

Ever hear of a rock garden? Painting rocks is fun and they make the perfect accessory for the front porch or the front yard.

Flying Kites

Our kids LOVE flying kites. A breezy spring day is perfect to go outside and get some kites in the air. Even Charlie Brown would join in! Watch out for the kite-eating trees!

Raise Butterflies

This one is SO cool. Not only will the kids get to see a life cycle in action, but they also get to see the beauty and awe of God’s creation right in front of them and then release them back to nature.
