CrossWired Science – Review

Share with a friend!

If you’re a Christian homeschool family who gets nervous about teaching from a secular science curriculum, then CrossWired Science is for you! In this review, I’m going to give you an inside look at CrossWired Science, and its Biblical, creation-based material.

What Is CrossWired Science?

Sound and Fluid Dynamics from CrossWired Science is a new curriculum and is currently in Beta testing. The material teaches and studies science and nature through the lens of God’s Creation by showing His Glory through the things He has made.

The curriculum introduces students to hundreds of Bible Scriptures related to His creation so that they will have a deep understanding of the Creator who is the inspired source of the Bible and the Savior of mankind, through His son Jesus.

In its present state, the website can be used as a full science curriculum for 3 months. With the new additions that will be made in the future, the website can be used for an entire year. There are hopes that the website will eventually have up to 6 years of science curriculum available. If a full curriculum is not needed, CrossWired Science may also be used as a supplement curriculum to any science curriculum.

How To Use CrossWired Science

CrossWired Science is great for students from kindergarten through High School and is recommended that young children be introduced to “deep God-honoring Science” as early as possible.

The curriculum is broken into “First Timers” and “Second Timers” with Core Videos and Global Topics. The Global Topics are Sound and Fluid Dynamics. It is recommended to watch all 8 videos within the first few days of the lessons for each Global Topic.

The videos are on average between 3-6 minutes in length. There are several activities, worksheets, quizzes, and teacher resources available. A recommended calendar is also available to help with lesson planning.

CrossWired Science offers a Sample Unit that you can navigate through to see how things are structured and get a feel for the curriculum.

How Much Does CrossWired Science Cost?

My Thoughts On CrossWired Science

Although CrossWired Science is still in Beta Testing, it has the potential to be a fantastic curriculum. It also makes it a great opportunity to start using this curriculum at the ground level. I plan on using this curriculum through its Beta Testing and I look forward to seeing how it develops.

The cost of a curriculum is always a concern for homeschool families. CrossWired Science is inexpensive and is a great option for families looking for a Bible-based science curriculum.

CrossWired Science may not suit some families due to the fact that it’s still in Beta Testing simply because you may prefer a curriculum that’s established and that’s okay. If the fact that CrossWired Science is in Beta Testing doesn’t bother you and you don’t mind frequent updates and changes, then I recommend that you give this curriculum a try.
