Today, I’m going to share with you a fantastic book for kids called Nothing by Natalee Creech and published by WorthyKids, an imprint of Hachette Book Group. The subtitle, which says, “Nothing Can Separate You From God’s Love”, made me very eager to get my hands on this book and read it.
I’m always on the lookout for strong, Biblically accurate books that I can read to my children. Nothing by Natalee Creech, is a fantastic choice. It explores Romans 8: 38-39, which states in the ESV translation:
38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This book allows children to explore a big question, “Can anything separate me from God’s love?” The book goes on to ask questions like “If I soared in a rocket past planets in space, could I ever outdistance God’s love and God’s Grace?” Then answers it “No! There is nothing so powerful, nothing so strong. God’s love is too high and too deep, and too long!”
This hardcover book has paper pages and the design is quite beautiful. The illustrations, done by Joseph Cowman is amazing! It adds so many details and helps kids visualize what the words are describing.
When I read this book out loud to my 3 children they were excited and helped answer the questions as I was reading it. I love how the book emphasizes what they’ve already have been taught about God!
After I read it, I gave them the book to open and explore. They were super excited to flip through the pages for themselves. I love how this book puts God’s sovereignty, grace, and omnipresence on display for children to understand. I also loved the questions my kids went on to ask about God as they read through it.
Overall, both my children and I loved reading Nothing, by Natalee Creech. I highly recommend it to Christian parents who want sound, scripture-based books for kids. It is especially a good fit for families who hold to the Reformed faith.
This book is affordable and makes a great addition to your library! It is the perfect supplemental book for Bible lessons on Romans and it will help kids understand more about God’s love.
