These eggnog cookies are a tasty treat you will want to make every year. Soft, chewy, full of flavor cookies that are sure to be a delight!

No need for extra fluff…let’s get right into the recipe!

Ingredients for the eggnog cookies:

Eggnog Cookies

After you have whisked together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Find a separate bowl and whip together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.

Mix in egg yolks. Then slowly add in vanilla, rum extract, and eggnog.

Slowly combine dry ingredients and combine. From there you can start to scoop 1tbsp size cookies onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet 2 inches apart.

Once the dough is placed on the cookie sheet bake for 12-14 minutes. When the cookies have cooled transfer to a wire rack to continue to cool.

Delicious eggnog cookies that taste just like your favorite seasonal drink!

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups AP Flour
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Sea Salt
  • ½ tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • ¾ Cup Butter (Softened)
  • ½ Cup Sugar
  • ½ Cup Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 2 Egg Yolks (room temp)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp Rum Extract (or your favorite bourbon like Southern Comfort)
  • ½ Cup Eggnog
  • Frosting
  • ½ Cup Butter (room temp)
  • 3-5 Tbsp Eggnog
  • 1 ½ tsp Rum Extract (or your favorite bourbon like Southern Comfort)
  • 3 Cups Confectioners Sugar
  • ½ tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp Cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat Oven to 350° F

    1. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon
    2. In a separate bowl whip together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until pale and fluffy.
    3. Mix in egg yolks (1 at a time) until just combined.
    4. Mix in vanilla, rum extract, and eggnog on low speed.
    5. Slowly add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
    6. Scoop 1tbsp size cookies onto a parchment lined cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
    7. Bake for 12-14 minutes. Allow to cool on sheet pan for several minutes before transferring to the wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting

    1. Whip butter until pale and fluffy.
    2. Add rum extract, 3 Tbsp. eggnog; slowly add confectioners sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon (add more eggnog if needed for desired consistency).
    3. Frost cooled cookies and enjoy your new favorite Holiday cookie!
