Math 3 Master Books

Charlotte Mason-Inspired

While I don’t consider our homeschool to be Charlotte Mason inspired, I appreciate its approach in certain areas of our homeschool. Math Lessons for a Living Education is designed around the principles of Charlotte Mason’s teaching style. Instead of dry worksheets and endless drills, lessons are presented through stories and real-world applications. In Level 3, children follow the adventures of twins Charlie and Charlotte, which makes learning feel meaningful and relatable.

Short and Gentle Lessons
Each lesson is designed to take around 15 to 30 minutes per day which works great for our schedule. This approach ensures your child isn’t overwhelmed, while also building consistency and confidence in their math skills. It’s perfect for families who prefer a relaxed, yet effective, pace.

How Math 3 May Benefit Your Child

I’m using Master Books Math 3 with my son. It has benefited him in several ways and I love seeing his independence grow as he works through lessons on his own.

The step-by-step approach means that topics are not rushed which allows my son to fully understand concepts before moving on, which naturally boosts his confidence.

Encourages Independent Learning
Level 3 is great at fostering independence. My son reads the lessons himself, completes exercises, and is able to check his work with minimal guidance. I’m always available to help when he needs it.

Develops Critical Thinking
Through story-based problems and real-life scenarios, he just isn’t memorizing numbers, he’s learning how to think critically and solve problems creatively.

My son is a mix between a visual learner and a hands on learner however Math 3 fits with any learning style. From the colorful illustrations to simple manipulatives, this curriculum can be easily adapted to suit the needs of your child.
